Does anyone know if the Splash page function is still working in 6.0.

I tried to set one up and it doesn't seem to work.  I restarted the application pool, cleared my cache, deleted all browsing history, but it still goes straight to the home page when first loading the site.

I did a quick search of the source code and I can't find any logic that is supposed to catch the first visit and redirect to the Splash page.

Any ideas?

The Splash Page functionality works fine for me with V 6.0. Make sure that your splash page's permissions are set to be visible to everyone.
