I'm actually seriously considering installing 3.x instead until these kinks get worked out  :(

I have not encountered this problem with my DNN 4 portals, so please give some details on your installation. Was it a new install of DNN4.0.3 or an upgrade, and from which version?

What kind of portal are you running (parent/child? hosted?)

Did you encounter further issues?

I'm using GoDaddy shared hosting.  This is a brand new host I got specifically to run DNN 4 (how misguided I was!).

I had initial issues setting up the site, and had to remove everything and start over.  But once I did that everything seemed to run ok except for uploading content through DNN (skins, modules, etc.).

Just running 1 portal.

I did a new install of 4.0.3. It will be running 6 parent portals which have been set up but only partially populated.

I did upload 1 skin bu this took several attempts, since then all skins, containers and modules look like they are loading but do nothing with the file. You are returned to the main screen after the loading bar completes. There are no error messages generated or any log files. I cannot see any files uploaded either.

For uploading modules, the asp.net worker process needs write permission in folder /DesktopModules.

For uploading skins and containers, asp.net worker process needs write permission in folder /portals/_default, you should be able to see uploaded skins in subfolder /skíns and containers in subfolder /containers.
