I'm new to DNN so forgive my ignorance. But I seem to be experiencing the same issue as John - when logged in as Admin I can find no way of adding / applying skins. I do not want to install a skin at the host level, I simply want it available for 1 instance. Thanks for your help!

You have to be logged in as Host to install extensions.

Are all new skins considered an extension?  If I understand your reply correctly, I need to have superuser (host) rights in order to add a skin at the portal level?

well sometime seasons doesnt answer in the right time using Extension tool to install skins , modules and etc
the best way and more secure
go to ur FTP and this path
wwwroot/install/modules <-- to install module
wwwroot/install/skins <-- to install skins
and each folder goes by its name
upload ur zipped file skin there and now go to ur browser and type:
sitename.com/Install/Install.aspx?mode=installresources
--

just simple as that

now the access of Admin or Host

well if you want to have access to the all portals and site managment u need to login as ur Host ID name created during installation...

but login in as admin limits ur site access as im sure u have seen it

I had a hard time finding this, too!

Log in as admin and follow this path:  Admin, Site Settings,  scroll to bottom of page,  Select the link next to Update Button that says Upload Skin/Container

Thank you! Jody
