I upgraded to 6.0 and the system would not let me log in. I've hacked to reset my password and finally logged in and now I am getting this error.

as you couldnt log in that would suggest you did an install rather than an update i.e. the machinekey (which controls encryption) was changed which only occurs during install. If this is the case then you would have an odd merge of an install and a runnking site and could experience odd problems (note: a way this could happen is if you did a manual web.config merge and did not set the connection string correctly). Can you please check the version database table and see what it says i.e. does it show a gap between versions before the upgrade to 6 or are the times close together (suggesting an install in a single step)

I did do an install because I couldn't get the upgrade to work. I changed the Web.config sql path and machinekey
Is there anything else that I need to fix?

im confused - you say you did an install but the login didnt work which suggests an upgrade - did you do an install over an upgrade - could you please outline the steps you took.
