Absolutely perfect call.

Adjusted the z-index for the menu and, like magic, it was fixed.

If you're using Artisteer, get the latest version which is supposed to be DNN6 compatible.
In Artisteer, goto Export Options, then CSS Options. Paste in the following lines:
.DnnModule {z-index:0;}
.art-nav {z-index: 1;}
.art-controlpanel-container {z-index:2;}

Save your skin and upload to DNN6. You will find the z-index works as intended. No need to edit Portal.css, skin.css, or anything else for that matter.
