I've been poking around trying to find a dummies guide for creating a module for DNN 6.0 and having no luck.

There are three simple modules I want to create.

1. On page load, retrieve current username and oad a Java Applet.
2. Execute a SQL Select statement, return and display the results
3. Execute a SQL Select statement, return and display the results.

I have quite a few idea's for modules, I just need to figure out how to make that first one ... trying to walk before I run here.

But first, I need some help ... please?

Pretty much any of the dnn 5.0 module development guides are relevant.
DNN600 does introduce some new features - but they really wont impact on getting started in module development.

Michael Washington's web site is always a good place to start:  http://www.adefwebserver.com/DotNetNu...

the wiki has a ton of references - http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/Module-Development.aspx covers the ground well (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Video-Library/Viewer/VideoId/15/Basic-DotNetNuke-Module-Development.aspx is a good resource also) .Finally, the development section has lots of useful related information http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/loc/allpages/Cat/Development.aspx
