First, when you check the box in Site Settings > Payment Settings for Use Sandbox, the transaction still tries to go to the LIVE PayPal site.

After altering the URL and going to the proper site in the test guest's browser the transaction went fine, however when returning to the site the user's account didn't get the Subscribed Role added to their account.

Am I doing something wrong somewhere?

Thanks.

 Hi,

I have filed a bug report for the sandbox setting being ignored. I think this might be your problem.

I am fairly new to DNN and definitely new to PayPal processor so if I have mistaken me about something I apologize and will gladly accept corrections and insights.

I spent some time going through the PayPal feature and a blog post about my findings was created:

Perhaps you can find something useful in there.

I did actually. The information about IPN from PayPal was very helpful and I was able to view my IPN History and find where it was sending the notifications. For the CodingStaff plugin it helped identify an apparent bug in their system. I'm waiting for a response from them on that now.

Thanks for the very thorough and helpful information.

Stepping back through everything, and even using your suggestion for making your own button, the PayPal payment is received, and the PayPal IPN log says the IPN was sent and received with a code 200. The user's role still is not changed.
