I just installed DNN 6.0.1 on my host server using the install wizard (typical install) and all went fine. But when I go to the portal none of the content data is there - such as the video on the getting started page etc.  I installed DNN 6.0.1 on my local machine using the install wizard (auto install) and I got content.

The host install has all the menu and pages - but no content. I can add content and save it. However, I am concerned that something did not install correctly and I will find a big mess at a later date.  Advice please!

I would first check what version of ms sql is running on the host.
And also check the database ownership.

Have seen some weird sql permission settings on some hosted sql servers with regard what dbo ownership.

Westa,
You are not going to believe this .. I  Ieft the install for a while and then went back and now the content is there.  I know how that sounds.  But I originally did the install last night and I did not have content. I thought for sure something got hosed during the process so I deleted everything this morning and did the install again-  and the same result - no content.  I went back to investigate further after putting the post on forum and now the data is there.  It must be browser related?

These things make you want to pull your hair out!  but the good news is that it appears that DNN 6.0.1 installed like a charm.

Hmm sounds like a cache timing / delay issue  -  caching is more aggressive on some servers.
I would possibly check your server cache settings.
