Hello!

I need to allow my client to be able to import their own .csv into the Form & List Module.  The issue is they do not have access to the root, nor, given the security needed on this file, is it appropriate to EVER store it there.

1.  Is it possible to configure the module to allow a "Browse" type function on upload?

On another upload note, they are currently storing records in an excel spreadsheet, however many of the fields have commas in the content.  I haven't yet noticed an issue when exporting their data to a comma delimited .csv, but given the sheer volume of their records, there might be an issue I haven't seen yet.

2.  Is there any way to configure the module to except a pipe delimited .csv?

And lastly, given the nature of their work, they "release" records to a larger system once they become suitable for public release.  I am able to add a field, like 'public', and search for records where public=yes, however I can't seem to export JUST THOSE results.

3.  Is there any way to export a given subset of results to XML?

4.  Is there any way to export a subset (or entire set) to a .csv stored outside of the root?
Again, given the classified nature of the records, they can't be stored in a publicly accessible area for any given amount of time. I was trying to see if they could import, then later export back to .csv, but found I was only able to export back to the root.  Is this right, or am I missing something?

Thank you in advance for any and all input!

Hello Carol,

1) No, there is no "Browse" type function, neither on up- or download. Fields with commas should not be an issue.
Import / Export can be done to every dnn folder (depending on permission for the current user)

2) No, only comma and semicolon are accepted.

3/4) It would be possible with the XML module  (6.0.x) + FnL DataSource, however this would only offer a direct download.
This would also require a custom XSL script.
