Is there a way of restricting certain templates to only be used under certain sections/pages?

So, for example, if you have Home.ascx you can only use that on the Home page of the website?

AFAIK, there is no feature like that, unfortunately. I have never encountered any setting like that but I could be wrong.

to elaborate, my site will have around 10 sections, different users will be incharge of their own sections, when creating a new page for a section e.g. under about us a new page called "history" may be created, when the user starts to create their new page, they would choose a template, i do not want them using a template that may be for the products page so i would like for them to only be exposed to templates which have been built for the "about us" section and not for any other section?

Thank you

ATM all page templates are available for all users, you cannot set rights for a specific template
There might be some ways to "hack" around this by using jQuery.

Let's say all template names would start with the section name.
In that case you could use jQuery in the admin skin to hide all templtes that don't start with the current section (root page name?)

Not secure and a hack, but it should work.
