Hi all,

We're experiencing some interesting problems with our new DNN 6 instance.
I was wondering of anyone else has been experiencing such issues too.

We're seeing a few repeating problems, which all seem to have to do with cookie management.
All errors occur only after having worked with the website for a while (for instance skinning or content management).

One of the errors that repeatedly occurs is a 414 ISA server error ("Request-URL too Large. The size of the request header is too large"). we have never ever experienced this with previous versions of DNN, we're guessing that this happens because too much information is collected in the cookie file.
Only clearing the cookies fixes this error, or using another browser.

Sometimes when entering Edit mode on the site, we're getting numerous javascript errors.
Starting with the message "Sys is not defined”, many other scripts seem to fail to load.
This problem has the same behaviour. logging out and in doesn't help, only clearing all cookies fixes the problem.

Is anyone else experiencing these problems, or is there anything we could try to fix this problem?

ive not seen that exact error, but there are a few cookie related items that can occur - first of all numerous items can create cookies -obviously the forms auth cookie itself, but also the cookies that remember the state of expand/collapse boxes. In 6.0 we also added cookie personalisation for rememebering the state of admin items - so perhaps you're seeing an issue there - can you examine your request and see how many cookies there are (and their names) as perhaps we need to add an enhancement to disable the automatic personalisation.

Another longerstanding issue is that the cookie itself is limited in size - as the portalroles cookie holds the roles that the user is in this can grow - typically however we do not see an error about this, but instead some odd effects e.g. a user does not appear to be in a role. This is pretty rare as the cookie can hold ~50 role memberships and most sites simply have users in a few roles.
