Hi Merv

Check PortalAlias table in your database. whether it contains your URL or not. If not then enter manually.
For example am using  localhost/nuke

In the PortalAlias table

PortalAliasID = It will be auto number so u dont need to enter any number
PortalID = It will be your portal id mostly start with 0 zero
HTTPAlias = Enter your Url along with localhost like this localhost/nuke
CreatedbyuserID = -1
Createdate = enter any  date
Lastmodify =-1
lastmodufydate =enter date

hope this will work

Not sure if I had the alias in the table when I started the thread but I do have now as you stated. Is loading without errors except I'm getting redirected back to the live site.

Just wondering - on PowerDNN there is an area in Plesk to add alias names. Is it also necessary to included them in DNN Host > Portals eg. localhost/nuke or are you adding that record only on your local copy of the db?
