For what it is worth, we just ran into this issue upgrading a VERY old instance of DNN from 3.3.7 all the way to 6.0.1 (followed Will Strohl's recommendations at http://www.willstrohl.com/Blog/EntryId/102/Suggested-DotNetNuke-Site-Upgrade-Path-s). The issue first showed up in 6.0.0 (not 6.0.1). We uninstalled Feed Explorer to no avail. Then we tried to find Adsense to uninstall it. However, Adsense was not showing up. It did have entries in the DB though. So we removed those related rows (3 total).

We can still not access Host Settings though so the issue must be deeper than just what this thread suggests. I saw in another post something about PortalAlias.ascx. We verified that file is missing. Could this have something to do with the issue?

Without being able to get to Host Settings, our client's site is severely crippled at this point.

Thanks for any more insight!

Sorry to revisit this - but is there any indication that with 602 this has been resolved or is my site situation incompatible in respect to future upgrades?

Richard,

I am going to try and perform an upgrade to 6.0.2 on our one client site with this issue. I am not very sure what else to try. I will try to post our results here.

Richard, I just upgrade the site to 6.0.2 and still no success in seeing Host > Settings. I am getting the following error:

Error: Host Settings is currently unavailable. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: An item with the same key has already been added. ---> System.ArgumentException: An item with the same key has already been added. at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowArgumentException(ExceptionResource resource) at System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2.Insert(TKey key, TValue value, Boolean add) at System.Linq.Enumerable.ToDictionary[TSource,TKey,TElement](IEnumerable`1 source, Func`2 keySelector, Func`2 elementSelector, IEqualityComparer`1 comparer) at System.Linq.Enumerable.ToDictionary[TSource,TKey,TElement](IEnumerable`1 source, Func`2 keySelector, Func`2 elementSelector) at DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.ModuleControlController.GetModuleControlsByModuleDefinitionID(Int32 moduleDefID) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Host.HostSettings.BindData() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Host.HostSettings.OnLoad(EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Has anyone found a solution to this yet? This is VERY frustrating for our client. I would really appreciate some insight if anyone has it.

Regards.

David
