Hello,

I'm faced with a really mysterious problem of my DNN Intranet Site:

since a few days none of my links to a file on a windows file share are working anymore. When I click on one of these links simply nothing happens. It doesn't matter if these links are posted in the text module, documents module, links, etc ... It doesn't work at all. And I am 100% sure that the links are in correct format. I tried using "file://\\server\share\file.doc", "file:\\server\share\file.doc", "file:////server/share/file.doc". There is no difference at all. When I copy the HTML sourcecode into a html-file (e.g. the text of an Text Module) and open this in a browser all links are working perfectly. So DNN must do something really strange with this links. I also tried different browsers. They behave all the same.
And as always... I didn't changed anything ;) .... At least I couldn't remember

I hope that somebody can help me!

Thanks in advance for your replies

Björn

Hello everybody,

I found a workaround for my problem. To fix this issue I had to add the URL of my Intranet Site to the trusted sites in the Internetoptions of IE. This is very confusing because it happens on every PC in my Domain. I guess a Windows Update caused this. But this is only a suggestion. I can't say that for sure.
I will create a group policy to add the Intranet URL on all PCs to the trusted sites. Unfortunately this works only for IE and doesn't solve the problem itself. So I am open for any other solution ...

Thanks, Björn
