Hi,I have developped customs module that connect with the core database. They run well on my localhost IIS server. Once deployed on the hosting provide servers, I get a critical error on those modules as they cannot connect to the server.I have built the modules in VS2010. Connections with the database are done using datasets in the dataset designer. I then use datatableadaptors in my code. Can that be the reason for the faulty connection once deployed ? Should I rather LinqtoSQL methods as described in the following tutorial ? (http://adefwebserver.com/dotnetnukehelp/LinqTutorial/Default.htm)Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.ThanksJocelyn Montpert

Without seeing your code....I'd check to make sure you are using the correct datasource connection string for your modules DAL. Moving to LINQ is pretty cool (and easy)...but requires some work to use a difference connection at runtime.

If you do go the link direction this has been a lifesaver for me (again not necessary if your dev and live SQL connection info is the same, but a good way to make a deployable module using LINQ SQL)

Thanks Steven.i'm trying it. In the Usage section, it says "Change the base class of the DataContext to BrandonHaynes.ModelAdapter.DotNetNukeDataContext ". I suppose that this must be done at the "Inherits" line in the code-behind page ?Jocelyn
