I was disappointed to discover that I couldn't simply type in www.mydomain.com and go to my site; I had to type www.mydomain.com/dotnetnuke, which is rather awkward.  Is there any way to fix this?  Thanks.

Hi,

primary you have to add the domain name www.domain.com to the DotNetNuke portal settings.  You can do this with login as host in your system (portal) settings.
But you have to run the IIS domain settings from the root path of your DNN instance.  So if you have your domain domain.com e.g point to the httpdocs and your dnn instance is pointed tp httpdocs\DotNetNuke you have to point your domain to httpdocs\DotNetNuke path!

Guitarguy -

This could also be due to how your host has your installation setup. Some hosting providers install DNN into a subfolder so you wouldn't be able to browse to it without the additional folder path in your domain. You may want to check with your hosting provider to see if this in fact the case and/or if they can install it in the root (\httpdocs) folder for your site.
