Hello!

I have a client that is using DNN 5.2.3 (unfortunately they cannot upgrade). They frequently upload various documents and link to them (doc, docx, ppt, pptx, pdf, etc).

When using the content editor link button, it automagically throws in a link to LinkClick.aspx even if user click tracking is deselected. Generally, this is not a big deal. However, it would appear that in Firefox 4 & 5 (I would assume earlier versions as well) instead of going to the file as it does in every other browser, it throws a 404 file not found error on LinkClick.aspx.

As anyone run into this issue before or do you know of a fix for it?

Currently I have them just manually typing in their links (e.g. /Portals/XX/File.xyz) but I'd like for them to be able to keep their usual flow instead of having to track down where the file is actually located.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

I don't know if this is your problem, but recent builds of DNN throw 404 file not found errors when a file is accessed using LinkClick, and the user does not have permission to view the file. You might want to check that out in the File Mangler.

Sadly I do not think this is it. There are no specific permissions set on the files and this is only happening in FF. I think it's something to do with the HTTP Headers that are passed back and forth between the browser and server but I can't say for certain.
