  • Gemini has no issues revised since May, although many issues (and some fixes) have been posted via this forum and elsewhere
  • There is no publicly available source code fix even for bugs that have been fixed, such as the absence of pagination control
  • No re-release for dnn3.1

Can we have some sort of announcement from the project team or dnn team as to what the intention is?

If you look through posts here you will see that I addressed some of your concerns through various posts.  This project is hardly "dead".  I have been answering the questions as they come in at these forums and asp.net.  We also have been getting the subproject teams going which is no small task.  There is lots of "red tape" to get a subproject going from contributor agreements to simple organization and setting guidelines and finally communication.  Doing all this along with trying to manage other aspects of the project and being one of the three developers working on the two modules thus far definately slows down the entire release process.

As I have said in other posts, the gallery has suffered a bit because I was busy with work that I do for a living and I have been very consumed by the forums.  As much as I want the projects to succeed I have to pay my bills first.

There was a release for 3.1.  For future reference, subprojects are not required to release with the core project.  I have also stated the forums will release when 3.1.1 does and the gallery would follow shortly after that.

Apologies I've been struggling with an older version of the code.

Your previous post said you "recommend using these forums for bugs as I tend to take the bugs here and place them in Gemini."  but I couldnt see any updates in Gemini or any other answer to my previous points.  Of course this might be my fault as I was wasting my time raising issue against the old version due to not spotting the update :(

The 3.0.10 source zip contains no files dated later than May 1st although the download is dated as 16/6, which may what confused me initially, as the last updated dates on the download page are not always actual release dates - as per the 2.1.2 and earlier versions of dotnetnuke.  - I came back from a break in June, saw the update, downloaded it, went to look see what had changed recently and saw there wasn't anything new since early May so assumed it was code I'd already seen.

Well I'll better start diffing that code and work out if any I did aren't already in the June version...

thanks,

Jonathan

The last response to this thread was on 16 July, and it is now 4 September... What is the latest word on posting permanent fixes to this module?

It is a great module and many of my clients want to use it, however, I'm unable to consistantly make it work.

Any update would be GREATLY appreciated!
