Hi All,

This is probably just another post in regards to the slow loading speed of DNN but I have done a search and it seems that most of the other post are related to people using DNN on a web server where I am using it on a personal intranet server.

I'm running DNN 4.0 with MSDE 2005 on Windows 2003 Std Server with IIS 6.0, Dual 3.2Ghz Xeon Processors 4Gig Ram, 10000RPM SCSI HDD and Teamed 1000Mbit Nics ... surely this is enough to give DNN a kick however whenever you access the Intranet there is a considerable lag before anything comes up.

Does anyone have any ideas on what is causing this or how to fix it? Oh, and please keep it simple cos this is the first web server I have set up.

Thanks

this is because ASP.Net recycles the compiled pages after a while, when the portal is not accessed (default 20 min). You need a service, that hits your site, either from within your server or by an automated service like www.host-tracker.com

Yeah I have seen posts about this issue but the lag is always there with my intranet. Even if you go to a different page and come back to the first it takes ages to bring it back. Tis very strange indeed.

Heya People,

Just incase you have this problem too I believe I have narrowed it down to some RSS Feeds.

The DNN site seems to like to create the whole page before presenting it so they were holding up the works. I've put a cache on them and all seems to be good with the world.
