I followed your suggestion and have created issue DNN-4484 on dnntracker.atlassian.net.
I have posted the fixed UserController.cs file with it.

We've just experienced the same issue. After upgrading to DNN 7.2.2 and with all users authenticated, the server would hit 100% CPU and not come down until we restarted the w3wp.exe process. This would happen a couple of times an hour. Applying your fix this morning sorted the issue. Looking at the tracker I'm surprised to see it isn't scheduled for release until DNN 7.3.1?

Anyway a BIG THANK YOU to Marco for providing a solution !!!

that appears to be an oversight -it was supposed to be added under the performance epic but wasn't so ended up in the backlog and wasn't reached in time so was moved out. I will ensure this get's dealt with in 7.3.1

Sorry for the stupid question but how do you apply this fix to existing sites?
