the popups are making it challenging to see the styles - any chance you can disable the popup for the login control (temporarily) so that i can identify the relevant classes?

Ok, the problem is the skin.css associated with the skin i.e. www.logicaloperators.com/portals/_default/skins/sb003_midnightblue/skin.css which contains a .dnnLOGIN style definition that overrides our stylesettings -you may want to try removing some of the defintion of it in your skin (line-height in particular has some oddities http://www.maxdesign.com.au/articles/css-line-height/)
