Yes, the skin folder has skin.ascx
and skin.doctype.xml

The file skin.doctype.xml contains:


<SkinDocType>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
</SkinDocType>



I just noticed it was missing the CDATA info.. thanks.  This seems to have fixed the error in the event log...

<![CDATA[<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">]]>
</SkinDocType>



It also seems to have fixed the security role assignment issues... so far :)

Hi,
I have facing the same problem. I can't assign user to security role and it give error below.

And I tried to check user settings but it also throw an error.
