I am using the DotNetNuke Forum.  When I try to upload an image file using the Insert Media control it says "Max file size allowed: 1,000.00 KB".  How can I change this to permit files of up to 2meg in size?

I could use some help on this as well. I have the same issue in other modules on DNN. My setting in web.config is more than sufficient, and I left the Host settings at the installed default, that deal with child portal limits. I am able to upload larger files through the file manager. But any time I use HTML, or Blogs, or other such modules with the GUI editor, I get this same limitation and error. This post from Joe Brinkman seemed helpful

But I have no \HtmlEditorProviders\ folder under Providers. I've scoured both User and SuperUser docs with no success. Any ideas out there? TIA.

Per the instructions on the new Community Exchange, I tried the advice laid out here

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W...

But after putting in the , and restarting the application. I still can't upload larger files through the GUI editing tools. So I'm trying to get the number highlighted below to move up a bit. Any help?

The fix for your problem is to modify the default configurations for the Rad Editor:

  1. Edit the file at: ~\DesktopModules\Admin\RadEditorProvider\ConfigFile\ConfigFile.xml
  2. Change the <property name="MaxDocumentSize">1024000</property> to desired.  This is in bytes, so just add trailing 0 for 10MB (e.g. 10240000).
  3. Change the <property name="MaxImageSize">1024000</property> to desired.  This is in bytes, so just add trailing 0 for 10MB (e.g. 10240000).

The forum post http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W... refers to the overall upload max for the site dictated by IIS and corresponds to the limit in the Admin > File Manager > Upload where it says "Your site is configured with a maximum file upload size of 8 MB."

In DNN6 it is also possible to easily change the HTML Editor by going to the menu Host > HTML Editor Manager. You will need to click on "Default Configuration" or "Everyone" depending on the level of access you want to edit.

Here you will find many settings that can be changed including the Document Manager Settings - Max File Size.
