I am trying to find a module where users can save documents, videos, etc. to their own sort of a favorites area.  I thought I would be able to use the Repository but not sure.

So the goal would be that a user could click an item to save it to thier own dashboard (probably just a link to it). Then the user could come back to their dashboard at anytime to see the items they saved there.  Does anyone know if a module exists for this or would I have to create something custom including the modules that would contain the lists of document, videos etc.

Thanks so much!

there are a number of modules which support adding favourites but to my knowledge they all just add browser bookmarks, so you're probably looking at creating a custom module to do this. The main problem would be to add something to each module so it can be bookmarked, probably the easiest way would be to create a custom skin object and include it on the relevant container(s) - it could then execute (ideally an ajax) request that would store the details in a custom table that you would then read the results back from.

I would go for the Forms & list module ( maybe the depository has this option as well but I never used that )

With the F&L module you can set up your won data structure and display. Then you give your users a role so the can add items and you use a template xsl so that users only see there own items

Thanks for the replies. Armand, I am thinking the F&L is not going to work for me but I will take a look at it just to be sure. I think Cathal is right and I will probably have to do something custom after all. Thanks again!
