We are using the default DNN Forum module. One requirement I've been given is to change the display name that is displayed on the forum for moderators, so that "username" becomes "username (Moderator)". This seems to be a fairly common feature in forums (usually in left hand box that displays other information such as whether the person is online, their rating etc) but I can't see how to do this in DNN. Is there a setting I need to change, or can I amend the ASP pages/controls with some code to do this?

Thanks.

Hi, edit the relevant users Display Names in Admin > User Accounts and then make sure the forum is set to use Display Names and not User Names.

Thanks for that. An interesting workaround, but is there any way I can do it that is specific to the forum only? The "moderator" role is only important in the forum, but the same users are doing lots of other things like creating image galleries, adding blog posts etc and I think it would look a bit silly having things like "gallery created by <displayname> (moderator)", "news posted by <displayname> (moderator)" etc when the "moderator" role has nothing to do with these sections.

Ideally this would be a feature in the forum (e.g. "highlight moderators") or some code hack ("if <has moderator role> then <display name> else <display name + (moderator)>).

Any ideas?

This issue has come up for me as well with pretty much the same parameters. Does anyone know another work-around?
