Hi,

The DNN site at work (intranet) are using asp.net security.

However, keeping employees / users in sync became a nightmare (duplicate users from bulk imports, etc)

I made the suggestion earlier this week about moving to Active Directory security, eliminating the need for imports and keeping employee up to date.

While I did not investigate this at all, one thing I'm worried about is that a lot of custom modules depend on the UserId in the Users table.
I'm scared that when one hook up with AD, all the tables used by custom modules (like employees, absenteeism, etc) get orphaned since the user's will now have different UserId's.

Any thoughts on that>

no, the AD module simply does the authentication and then associates that account with the relevant dotnetnuke user account (note: it also supports syncronising roles i.e. if a role of the same name exists in dotnetnuke and in AD)
