I have a site with DNN 5.6.3 - Having a lot of issues with the file manager...

When I try to Synchronize the files... it can be set to recursive or not I will get the following error:

A critical error has occurred.
The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "FK_DNN_Files_DNN_Folders". The conflict occurred in database "DNN_OUPS", table "dbo.DNN_Files", column 'FolderID'. The statement has been terminated.

This is an issue because when I drag a new folder to the site root on my server - I cannot see it here unless I can sync the folders. I have tried resetting the application, I have cleared my cache and even reset IIS.

Why am I getting this error? It was also doing odd things before where it would duplicate sub folders in the file manager... they were not showing up on the server so I could not delete them in DNN (they did not actually exist.

Can I delete the file table in the database and have the site resync with the fie structure on the web server? Seems like there is something wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hello,
it would appear that you have something breaking referential integrity - i would recommend you check for the folders table for identically named folders (i have seen an issue where a folder was in as "cathal/" and "cathal" - folders should end in a / so the "cathal" without caused the issue, removing it resolved)

If there is nothing apparent there then you will need to check the database query to see what breaks the referential integrity i.e. write a query from files to folders (a left outer join) to see if a file has a folderid that does not exist - if you find some delete the records.

Finally, I would be way about clearing out the files table as there are entries that are used by the host and other portals - and you may also break linkclick links to files.
