Hi,  Not new to DNN but new to the forum.  Have been using DNN Community Edition for 3 years.  Today the site vanished.  And was replaced by a microsoft web hosting site.... iis7...  What have we done wrong?

please contact your hosting provider to check what this may be - it might be that your domain has expired or your hosting contract has expired, or even that they have made network updates that are causing this issue (basically sites do not disappear without good reason)

Thanks! Yes it was a hosting problem. Now fixed.

I try to manage our site myself using the system transfer for us my proper designer. Top of the page has 'critical updates' in red. When I log onto DNN, I don't follow or understand what I'm to do next. Upgrade? to 6? If I have to back up pages on the site, I have no idea in the world how I would do this.

Firstly, is that what we should be doing? And secondly, is there a tutorial to guide this process.

Many thanks for your quick replies!

Thanks!  It was a hosting problem.  Fixed.

We've been using DNN for 3 years.  Version is 5.01.03.  How do I begin to upgrade to the newest community version?  The site was orginally transferred for us by a web designer from an existing site and we've been managing since.  It's a small site with no commerce, yet.

Can we manage the upgrade ourselves.... total newbies... or should we hire someone.   Do we have to upgrade to each version?  Can we go directly to the newest from 5?

There doesn't appear to be a tutorial for this sort of thing, is there?

Kindest regards,
Christine and  Niall Williams
