This is what worked for me:

Response.Redirect(Globals.NavigateURL(), true);

Hi,

Response.Redirect(Globals.NavigateURL(), true) works for me too, but....if I create a cookie just before it gets lost. Why?

Since I found this in a google search - here's what I ended up using - for my situation I didn't want a redirect - just to close the popup.

you can use the dnnModal library - and in your code call:
dnnModal.closePopUp(refresh, url);

So to close w/o a refresh:
dnnModal.closePopUp(false);
