Am installing on a Win7 machine.  Have installed .net v4 and went through all the directions on the install video (which was the best one of these I've ever seen), and when you get to the part where it says you are now ready to launch a browser window and type in localhost/dotnetnuke, I do that and what I get back is a page with the DNN logo in the upper left, some horizontal lines further down the page, and no content.  There is nothing to do because the content which I'm guessing would have something like "click here" to install, is just totally missing.  So in summary, the page does load, I do get a graphic, that being the DNN logo, and I DO NOT get any error messages.  Any help on I've done wrong would be greatly appreciated.

Which video did you see? I would recommend using Visual Studio 2010 with the Visual Studio Starter Kit.

There are many ways to install, Using:
Manual Installation (for a run-time deployment to a web server)
Source Installation (for source code deployments where compilation would be necessary)
Visual Studio Starter Kit Install (Choose File option with Auto Install and Push F5 when deployed to run)
Webmatrix Install

I've even seen desktop applications to assist with installing. Install used to be a problem with version 2 and 3, but now everything works perfectly.

On Windows 7, right click folder and uncheck read only after install and i add the Network Service Account to that Folder with all permissions.

It could also be a browser issue with tracking protection or intranet settings disabled or similar?

Terry, what is the url of the page? Does it have something like ?mode=install as a querystring parameter on it?

please make sure, permission have been set correctly for the account being used by the application pool. Wich install method did you use - manual, Web Platform Installer, WebMatrix or Visual Studio?

when I typed the http://localhost/dotnetnuke/ ..............  it appended "Installwizard.aspx", and then I get the screen like it showed in the video on the DNN site about how to install to a win7 machine.  But like I said earlier, it only displays the DNN logo and some horizontal lines.  It's like something is being prohibited from running, but I don't know if it would be something in the browser, something in my .net settings, or something I done wrong in the setup to this point..
