Hi all-

After upgrading my website from 6.0.1 to 6.0.2, DNN will no longer let me login. I have verified several times that my password is indeed correct, and have also tried different user accounts, yet I always get the same message: Login Failed. Please remember that passwords are case sensitive.

This issue started happening immediately after I upgraded, so I assume something in the upgrade process caused the login to stop working.

Has anybody experienced this issue before, or know how I might go about fixing it?

Thanks,
Phil

What happens, when you let DNN email your password with the forgot password option in the login screen.

Is the password in the email the same as you thought is?

The website is still in a beta stage, so the email feature is not yet working.

As I said, I have verified several times that my password was typed in correctly. My browser is set to remember passwords, and the saved password failed to login, even though that password worked flawlessly before the upgrade. Typing it in manually didn't work either.

Hi Phil,

Just a thought....
Did you use a new web.config for your upgrade installation?

When you do use a new web.config for the DNN 6.0.2 upgrade you have to make sure that the <machineKey> is the same as in the old web.config file.

You can try the steps to change the password in the database:
See also the steps of Sebastian in this post: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Forums/forumid/107/postid/63269/scope/posts.aspx#63269
