The site I maintain is at 4.9.5 and running fine after being upgraded earlier this year. In my Install folder there are still files along with files in some of the sub-folders (see sample below). The folders showing no sub-files have PlaceHolder.txt documents in them doing what I assume the name means. Which of these files should be in the Install folder and which should not after a successful install?

I had to recover the site a couple times after attempting to upgrade it and having problems. I suspect that some of these files and maybe others are remnants of the unsuccessful upgrade earlier this year causing problems when I attempt to upgrade to DNN 5.4.4 at this point.

Thank you for your help.

those files mostly look fine - we preserve the directory structure to allow for distributing upgrades/batch upgrades (see installresources http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W... )

However I'd recommend removing the following - if you ever need them you can get them from their respective forge (codeplex) sites.

/Install/Package/CardSpace_01.00.00_Install.resources
/Install/Package/LiveID_01.00.00_Install.resources
/Install/Package/LiveID_01.00.00_Install.zip
/Install/Package/OpenID_01.00.00_Install.resources
/Install/Package/OpenID_01.00.00_Install.zip

Please note, we're considering changing the install folder items in a future release so that more items (such as the install pages themselves) are deleted after installation
