Important new version finally released!

Today I'm pleased to announce the general release of version 2.5 of the Url Master module.

This is a very important update for the module because it includes the ability to extend the Url creation and rewriting process for DotNetNuke through the inclusion of module-specific Url Providers.

What does this mean?

This means you don't have to accept any type of imposed Url format by the framework.

Want a Url that looks like http://example.com/my-widget-product for your e-commerce site?  No problem.

Want to change the Url format of your Blog or Article module, but need to support your legacy Urls?  No problem.

Just look at the change in the Blog Urls for the DotNetNuke Blog Module, using the also-released Blog Module Provider:

(Incidentally, that above link is to the Blog Entry for this announcement, you might want to take a look!)

This change opens up the ability for DotNetNuke module developers to implement completely new Url strategies, to build the most search-optimised Urls you can, and to leave the old Url retrictions behind.

This change has been planned ever since the first version came out, and has been in development and testing for nearly 12 months.  It's been trialled on different sites and tweaked and improved until it's ready for everyone to get the benefit from.

And there's more than that!

This new release also contains the ability to define a different skin for your site when it is viewed by a mobile browser.  This provides a fast and automatic way of delivering your site content in a mobile format, right now.

Plus all the usual small enhancements, fixes and performance improvements you would expect from a new release.

It's free to upgrade if you're a customer, and it's free to try if you're not.

Why not skip over and download the install package and instructions now?
