Bit of a newbie question , so please bear with me !

I have installed and configured DNN v4, and its working well. I have sussed out how to create pages, each with the simple text/html module. My site structure is coming on nicely now. Each page that I create 'appends' itself to the main site menu

What I want now is to create a series of pages (Company News articles). I do not want these to append themselves to the main menu, as there will be loads of them, and the menu will get massive !, So I have discovered the checkbox called 'hidden', which allows me to create pages without them appending themselves to the menu - perfect.

Now what I need to do is create a page which is on the menu called Company News; and on this page I want a module which dynamically lists the titles of the Company News article pages. Each title is a link, clicking on it will display the Company News article page.

Which module should I use for this ?

Thanks

Nathan

Nathan,

welcome to DNNworld ;)

According to your question, for your news you can use default module Announcements and there are a number of more enhanced 3rd party modules - I prefer free Articles module from www.efficionconsulting.com, and there are others e.g. from www.ventrian.com.

Thanks for your reply Sebastian.

I looked at the Announcements module, but it did not do quite what I was looking for (unless I was doing something wrong  ). Every Annoucement that I created appeared in the Announcement module, but the entire article (IE. all of the rich text) was displayed - so it made for a very long list. And there did not appear to be anything to click on.

What I want is to create each Company News article as a page in its own right. Then I want a module that will look at the database, and bring back all the Company News pages, and list just the title. Each title is a link, and clicking it will display the page for the Company News article selected.

Does this make sense ?
