i recently received a dotnetnuke website from someone. I tested it on my local machine and it seemed to work so decided to put it on the server. I am having trouble accessing the site from the server. I set the urls correctly in the httpalias field in the portal alias table. In firefox it tells me that the site I was trying to access was infinitely redirecting so it stopped. I searched the forums an happened to stumble on this article http://www.bestwebsites.co.nz/dotnetnuke/solving-the-dotnetnuke-redirect-loop/ ,that discussed a issue similar to this. It mentioned that it was the trust levels with the application that was causing it and either change the levels or install .net 3.5 or the ajax extensions 1.0. My trust level was set at the highest already and .net 3.5 was already installed on the server. Here are the differences that might matter:-The local machine was running win 7 64bit and the server where the site is on is running windows server 2008r2.- local machine has .net 4 installed and server has .net 3.5 installed- local machine had the site in the wwwroot folder and converted to application on default website and on the server created a new web site.- local machine added default app pool with permissions and the server does notCould it be that since that since I have not added default app pool with permissions on the site, it could causing this issue? I have tried adding it but it says that it is not found. I think I had an issue adding the default app pool on my local machine but resolved it somehow. I could be wrong but i thought i resolved by using a longer path like \...\IIS AppPool\DefaultAppPool. Also I believe the site is running on DNN 5

did you make sure, that default.aspx has been added as default document? besides, please verify that the windows account used by ASP.Net (as configured in IIS Application Pool used) has been granted edit permission for the DNN install folder and everything inside as well as all child folders.

Cheers from Germany,
