I have some v5 sites that I need to upgrade to 6 but they have many modules and potential fail points so I want to try the upgrades on offline clones at first.<br />  <br />  I am still on XP but have a nice PD utility call ProIIS that lets me run multiple local host sites easily.<br />  <a target="_blank" href="http://jetstat.com/iisadmin/">http://jetstat.com/iisadmin/</a><br />  <br />  OK - I have my site and its DB with a localhost alias.  I create a new website and set up the permissions.<br />  <br />  My problem is around the location of the DB. Online I run my DNN sites on a semi-dedicated server. The DB is on a different box.<br />  <br />  My question is how do I attach the localhost DB and where do I put it? <br />  <br />  On my other local host sites the DB is in the app data folder.  I have tried putting the backed up DB in this folder and have messed around with connection strings but all I ever get is the DNN install page. I think this is probably just a connection string issue but I am unsure how to proceed.<br />  <br />  There are quite few online guides to this but none seem to deal with the location / connection of the DB.<br />  <br />  Example of the live site connection string<br />  <add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Server=SERVERNAME;Database=DBName;uid=USERName;pwd=Password;" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" /><br />  <br />  I really hope someone can point me in the right direction and that this post makes sense.<br />  <br />  Thanks<br />  <br />  Ian
