Hello Westel, Cathal, Sabastian or anyone else who may have some insight inot this issue:

I have just created a new page on my portal and realized that I had it in the wrong position within the right level.  For example say you have pagea, pageb and pagec.  These are all root level pages and you decide you need to create a pageba that would come after pageb. Upon creation of pageba you forget to insure that it is placed after the pageb item and so need to adjust this position within the same level after the fact of page creation.

In the DNN 5 days this was possible by going to pages and pressing on the up and down arrows that were green for moving the position either up or down in the same level or you could move the position up and down  by level instead of position using the orange arrows.

Now with the new DNN 6 infrastructure the rules have changed where instead of the use of arrows you use a more intuitive method of drag and drop.  Granted this approach works great for moving pages either from root to a subpage of another page or from subpage to root but I can't figure out how to use the new infrastructure to move pages to a new location within the same level weather it be main root or needing to move a couple pages whose parent is different then the root of the site.  Same principle would apply.

So here is the bottom line how can you move pages to a new position within the same level with the new structure of how pages work after the initial page has been created.  I have actually went back to a given page settings to see if I could find the attribute that asks you where you would want the position of the page within a given level to be but all I could find is how to change the level a page is at, or, move it to another parent node but not how to put it in a new position within the same parent node so ultimately how to you shift child nodes around that need to have the same parent node.

Thanks,

Bo

you just use the drag and drop, the UI will pick up the new position and update accordingly - the trick is to drag it between the 2 pages and make sure neither is highlighted (otherwise it moves it that parent)
