I have upgraded my site from 5.6.2 to 6.1.0, it is hosted on Goddady.com

Following the upgrade of the Core DNN modules I then installed the 5.0.3 Forum module

When I go to Forums the initial Forum View works fine and you see all the different discussion areas and the last post in each.

Clicking on either a Discussion room or a last post produces the following error:

A critical error has occurred. An unexpected error has occurred

This is what is showing in the event Viewer:

I have seen requests to restart the application but this happened shorlty before anyway:

This is now my third attempt to get to 6.1.0

The first time I got the same error but had missed the fact that the Forum module needed to be updated
The second time I tried to go 5.6.2 -> 5.6.4 -> 6.1.0 I got the Forum error at both the 5.6.4 and 6.1.0 stages but agina had not updated the Forum from 5.0.1 to 5.0.3

The installation of 6.1.0 went through successfully, I have the log of that if it would help?
The same is true for the 5.0.3 Forum installation

As mentioned earlier this is hosted on a Godaddy installation installed as the only application in the root of the site.

I do not have access to my dev server any longer and so unfortunately need to make updates to the live site.

I am seeing the same results form both an IE8 and IE9 client - not that I thnk that has anything to do with it!

I will have to revert the iste to the previous version if I do not get a resolution in the next 24 hours, I think we can live without the forums for 1 more day, the rest of the site behaves as expected and performance is significantly better then with v5 would be nice to be able to stay on this version.

I have been reading a few posts and did see a comment on 6.1 possibly needing different app_data permissions but as this is hosted I cannot access those.

Userid has been replaced by ****** for annonimity.

Any help greatly appreciated

Does no one have any ideas?

I hope I have provided enough information but if anyone needs anything else happy to provide.I have continued to search but cannot find any solutions that would seem to address this problem.

Do I just go back to 5.6.2?

Will I be stuck there for ever?

Any help grealty appreciated.

I am also getting the same error after upgrading when trying to open a previously posted thread on the forum.  I can open topics without and error if the topic area is empty.

I updgraded the Forum module and it fixed the issue.  Seems the version I had wasn't compatible to DNN 6.0.
