I have a DotNetNuke website running on microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2. yesterday after i performed system restore i discovered my SQLserver service stopped running with an error message "" . my website have refused opening because it cannot connect to the database.i've tried all i could to restore master.mdf but it's still not working.now i have no choice than to re-install the database.

my question is,
1. can i un-install the database and re-install it without destroying my website stored data?
2. if i re-install the SQL server 2008 R2 can i connect the website back to the previous database?

If you have a backup of the database you should be able to re-install SQL Server and restore from the backup. If you don't have a backup of the database though, you will be in trouble.
