After upgrading my DNN 5 site to DNN 6, the Friendly URLs feature no longer functions.  When I turn off Friendly URLs, the navigation works fine, but when I turn them back on and restart the site, the home page loads, but I get "page not found" errors when trying to visit other pages.  Updating to DNN 6.1.1 did not fix things.

which menu component are you using in your skin? are you using a multilingual site?

I am using the DNN Nav skin component:

<%@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="NAV" Src="~/Admin/Skins/Nav.ascx" %>
<dnn:NAV runat="server" ID="dnnNAV" ProviderName="DNNMenuNavigationProvider" ControlOrientation="Horizontal"                                             CSSControl="mainMenu" IndicateChildren="false" />
The site is not multilingual and appears to only have one language installed, English (United States).

Now that I test it out more, more than just the home page loads correctly.  About half of the pages load correctly, the other half give me an error like this:

DotNetNuke Error

An error has occurred. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: The file '/NewsInfo/DailyClips.aspx' does not exist. ---> System.Web.HttpException: The file '/NewsInfo/DailyClips.aspx' does not exist. at System.Web.UI.Util.CheckVirtualFileExists(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVirtualPathObjectFactory(VirtualPath virtualPath, HttpContext context, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean noAssert) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath(VirtualPath virtualPath, Type requiredBaseType, HttpContext context, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean noAssert) at System.Web.UI.PageHandlerFactory.GetHandlerHelper(HttpContext context, String requestType, VirtualPath virtualPath, String physicalPath) at System.Web.UI.PageHandlerFactory.GetHandler(HttpContext context, String requestType, String virtualPath, String path) at System.Web.HttpApplication.MaterializeHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() at System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

this sounds like an issue with url rewriter, are you using any 3rd party for this purpose (like Ifinity UrlMaster)? Or did you modify rewriting rules?

I am using all stock DNN components as far as I can tell.  I do not know how to modify the rewriting rules.

The site is only a year or so old.  It was originally built on a version of DNN (5.x) that had Friendly URLs built-in.  There are some pages with special characters in the title, such as "News & Info", but the problem is not specific to those pages.
