Hello,

please note, the closing of issues is intended to remove items that are no longer relevant - there are hundreds of items that related to UI/UX/functionality that is ancient and no longer relevant (e.g. bugs to fix UI that hasn't existed since 2005). If an item hasn't been updated in over a year then we feel it is fair to assume that it's no longer relevant -folks can still update issues and reopen them if this is wrong, but doing this will allow the QA team to focus on the "real" issues rather than spend lots of wasted time on invalid items.

We've been discussing this extensively recently internally and are putting plans in place to accelerate the rate of bugfixing and to better capture contributed fixes - for now the best way to contribute a fix is still to create a gemini issue, describe the problem, provide a solution and mark the item as "includes code fix" . I hope we can share the exact details soon.
