OK, i am stumped.

We upgraded a site from IIS5 DNN4 to IIS7 DNN6 and all of a sudden we are unable to upload large files.   We have followed everything in the post: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W... (and many other posts), still nothing seems to do the trick.

Here is what I am seeing:

  • Small files (3MB) upload OK
  • Large file fails or timeout consistently after about 4:15 and about 40% through a 31MB file.
  • It happens on all browsers, but the browsers report different messages
    • Chrome: "Connection Interrupted"
    • Firefox: "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading"
  • There are no errors in the DNN Event Viewer
  • There are no errors in the Windows Event Viewer
  • Web.config is:
    • < httpRuntime useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" maxRequestLength="102400" requestLengthDiskThreshold="102400" executionTimeout="6000"
    • < neatUpload useHttpModule="true" maxRequestLength="204800" defaultProvider="FilesystemUploadStorageProvider" maxNormalRequestLength="102400"
    • < requestFiltering>< requestLimits maxAllowedContentLength="1000000" />
  • Again, this was a fairly typical upgrade and it worked fine before the upgrade.
Anyone have any thoughts?

there might be an IIS setting resetting the app pool, make sure you are logging all recycling events and watch Windows event log.

To circle back and answer my own question....

We upgraded to DNN 6.01, changed the requestLengthDiskThreshold value back to "8192" in the httpRuntime property, and corrected an issue with the requestLimits maxAllowedContentLength="300000000" not being big enough.

This seemed to have resolved it.
