At support.dotnetnuke.com, one of tickets, i remember whitespace was buggy and a user were suggesting a change. Could you please explain why whitespace filter is removed from framework?

I have two versions of same website. Lets say A and B.

A has DNN 5.4.x, ASP.NET 2.0 app pool integrated

B has DNN 6.1.1 ASP.NET 4.0 app pool integrated

A is loading after 3 seconds with 8Mbits connection. B is loading after 14 seconds. Among all settings only ws filter is non-existent at DNN 6.1.1.

I would expect, whitespace filter has been removed because it is superceeded by compression (though gzip has been buggy during the latest versions).

Seb, among all things, Compression is one of the important performance options for DNN users. If it still buggy then we will have to look for other options in the market.

My Canadian employer has many clients and the clients are looking for the fast loading DNN websites.

I have full control over the server, one thing i am suspecting is a 64bit newsletter module. I'm already following but, since yesterday I've read many resources at this forum. However, i can't find the cause of slow load performance.

Maybe, I'm about to discover it...Wish me good luck.

Ismet,
if you have full access to the server, I suggest enabling static and dynamic compression instead of relying on DNN compression, which affects HTML only.

This is something i fail to understand: major bugs that exist for a long time.

That compression bug is there from 5x version and still is unfixed and it is unclear if it will be ever fixed.

Maybe it should be removed as an option ?
