I had a DNN 4.0.3 installation and then created a new portal and configured all my settings and multiple pages. The server then crashed and I could not retrieve any file.

Now I did a fresh install on a local system VWD 2005 and SQL Server Express 2005. After configuration I replaced the online database with the local one, but, now i am finding a problem. When i logon the default page redirects to my local address (http://localhost:1304/)

Can any one suggest me how to restore all the settings without creating a manual new install and configuration.

It sounds like you might have a problem with your portal aliases.  Make sure that they are pointing to the correnct url

Thanks for your help. The error was with the portal alias only.

But, still I didnt change the portal alias to my local testing environment. Does DNN take the portal alias to be the default URL where it is first tested??
