I'm referring to the C# code in this link.

What file or files to I put the code in and what function should I put it in? From there I can adjust it as needed.
Also, does the code affect only the page, the portal, or the entire site? If it affects the portal then I'll be golden.

You can put it in your skin files, probably within page load or page init. You could also build a simple custom module and add that to all pages, or just the ones you want to do the switch on.

Since roles are portal base, it should be portal wide. If you have other portals, and only want the switch ability in one of them, make sure your skins are Admin rather than Host level.
