Please check what version of ASP.Net you are running for this portal - it should be running in 4

If you run upgrade from previous Version, and you have an old database please check the compatibility Level of your database.  It should be 100 (SQL 2008) or higher.  If you check my Blogs on this site you found a script sample to run this on DNN SQL feature.

Also be sure if you moved the database to a other Server that you have maped the database 'user name' with the 'Login name'.

Feel free to send me a private message if you not found the issue.

Hi Matthias,
all three local databases on my test system are running at compatibility level 100.

I am not sure what you mean by mapping the database username with the login name.

For my IBI site on my dev machine I have the following:

In the database itself in security->users I created  instantbi613 and gave it db_owner rights. Everything on the local site works except the forums when upgraded.

The thing that is not working in forums is that when I log on as host and float over "manage" there is no option coming up for forum administration. So the upgrade is very close to working. I can only imagine that there being no manage option for forums is some sort of permission detection problem between the host user account and DNN.

I will PM you as well to let you know I responded.

PS. I posted an image to our forums over here so you can see exactly what I am seeing.

Peter,

please try to Login as admin, open Module Settings and add user host to the permissions and give them all permissions e.g. Administrators have.
