Hi Matthias,

BINGO! Thank you. I just went in as host and granted myself admins via the settings on host and it worked fine. 

Thank you very much Matthias. I would never have thought of that. In all previous released host has all rights of admins on the forums.....so I learned something new today! 

Again...thank you...this has been bugging me for nearly 2 years now....I want the new forums on my sites because they look better.

Hi Matthias,
oops...spoke too soon. On the forums admin menu there is no selection for forums to create and manage forums. There seems to still be some sort of permissions missing.  I have also logged on with the adminstrator account and it has the same problem. The sections forums/users/content/email are missing from the Admin panel.

I can post another pic if you need. Sorry for being such a nuisance on this.

Hi Matthias,

I have got my second sub portal working now....this is a hosted portal inside a DNN hosting site.....I have it running on my test machine. I am getting the same exception thrown as before as well. The field  EnableModNotification is not nullable and the insert fails despite the fact that the field is not mentioned....there seems to be no default for it.

It is strange because the same code runs on the IBI test portal. I am presuming this has something to do with the users that have been defined on this hosting instance of DNN. In any case....I have got both DNN systems running now on my dev server so at least I can test the process of getting both DNN systems upgraded to have the new forums. I certainly can't just upgrade my prod sites when I am having this much trouble on the dev sites! LOL!!
