Hello Experts,

I am trying to convert my old DNN site to a new DNN site version 06.01.01 because my upgrade to V6 no longer allows me to make site edits.  After many hours, I have my site 70% complete and I found another issue...

I have java script on my old site pages and the new 'DotNetNuke.RadEditorProvider' does not seem to allow javascript.

I found an area that looks promising but it does not save my changes.

I go to 'Host' then 'HTML Editor Manager' then 'Default Configuration' and I uncheck 'Remove Scripts'  I then click the grey with white letters 'Update' button and nothing happens.

So my configuration does not change...

Any ideas?

Also does not checking the box introduce a security concern?

Should I think about an alternate method like putting the script in a file maybe the 'JS' folder instead?  If so how would I call that script using the HTML module - Source of the page.

Regards,

Chris

You can put the script in in the page header, from the page settings form.

Create a copy of the default or everyone configuration. You'll be prompted for roles that the new configuration should apply to.

Then un-check "RermoveScript" for that new configuration (and any other settings you want to change).

No problem. The page header is the proper place for ad-hoc scripts IMO. Otherwise you can include them in your skins. I've never been a fan of putting javascript in html modules.
