Anyone,

I am currently setting up a portal site for a client that is using AD Authentication.  In order to create the accounts (we do not want the user to create them), we have to enter a password, which does not get used since it is using AD instead.

The client is now getting phone calls from users saying they have tried to login and cannot.  Here the confirmation emails are sending out that generic password and the users are trying that instead of the correct AD password.

I have tried to search for it on the forums and though the DNN functionality and I do not see where the email is stored in DB/File System so I can edit it somehow not to include the password.  Or if there is something somewhere I can set so it doesn't send the email, like you can with a group membership update?

Any ideas?

Hi,

Some emails are stored in \Website\App_GlobalResources\GlobalResources.resx file. hope it will help you.

to cusomize the email messages, use the language editor, to be found at "Languages" in Admin menu (to modify per portal) or Host menu (to modify for all portals in your installation, use "host" mode of the editor), these changes will be preserved during updates. The language file, you are looking for, is loaded by default, scroll down to keys "Email_...". Use upright arrow button to open in RichText editor. Save your changes after editing.
