Hi,

Since upgrading one of our portals to 6.1.1 we have had the following issue:

When users login, they are not redirected, but simply returned to the login page. Clicking any link on the site does take them to the logged in state.

Similarly, in the Pages module, clicking the View Page option in the context menu of the page tree simply refreshes the page.

This does not appear to be browser specific in any way.

Checking the javascript console we see the following error after the postback: 

  1. Uncaught Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled. Details: Error parsing near '<!DOCTYPE html PUBLI'.
    1. Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager._endPostBackTelerik.Web.UI.WebResource.axd:15
    2. Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager._parseDeltaTelerik.Web.UI.WebResource.axd:15
    3. Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager._onFormSubmitCompletedTelerik.Web.UI.WebResource.axd:15
    6. Sys.Net.WebRequest.completedTelerik.Web.UI.WebResource.axd:6
    7. _onReadyStateChange

Googling this we found various solutions relating to response.writes, response headers etc none of which are used on the portal.

Any ideas?

Site is running on IIS6, .net framework 3.5

I'm having the EXACT same issue on a site I just upgraded to DNN 6.1.2. (IIS 6, .Net Framework 4).

Hi Robert,

Testing locally I've reproduced the same problem. Changing to Framework 4 does fix it, so I'm going to apply that to my live site.
